USGBC is proud of its global community of leaders. From local volunteers to national members to LEED Fellows (and sometimes all three at once), we are grateful for the movers and shakers that make our bold mission possible.

The Community Advancement Summit at Convergence is USGBC’s annual opportunity to celebrate and educate our most engaged stakeholders. This year, representatives from USGBC’s local communities, emerging professionals, community partners, LEED Fellows and national member companies will gather in Jacksonville, Fla. for three days of learning, giving back to the community—and dancing together!

The overarching goal of the Community Advancement Summit is “Building Leaders, Building Markets, and Measuring Mission Impact.” The summit will kick off after the Convergence Opening Plenary on Tuesday, June 21, with afternoon skill-building sessions focused on volunteer leadership. That evening, our shining examples of volunteer leadership will be celebrated at the Convergence Volunteer Awards Dinner.

Following a LEED v4 combined session with the LEED Steering Committees and Technical Advisory Groups on Wednesday morning, Wednesday afternoon will be spent in educational breakout sessions in the areas of market development, a GBCI rating system “boot camp,” community-centric programming and using the ADVANCE framework for social equity in green building. To end the day in style, all conference attendees are invited to attend a party hosted by the local USGBC North Florida community

On Thursday, Community Advancement Summit attendees will head out from the conference hotel to assist local community organizations at the Community Sustainability Projects. These projects allow conference attendees to put their green building expertise to work in service of the Jacksonville community.

Although we’ll be sorry to see everyone go at the end of the week, we know that the knowledge and camaraderie shared will inspire our members to continue the movement-building work within their local markets.

We hope to see you there!
