Kim Shinn is a recovering physicist, registered professional mechanical engineer, and a Principal and Senior Sustainability Wizard with TLC Engineering for Architecture, a 300-person national consulting engineering firm. He has been a USGBC LEED™ Accredited Professional since May 2001, and became a LEED AP BD+C Specialist in 2009.
Kim was elevated to LEED Fellow in 2011 in the inaugural class of 34 Fellows. Mr. Shinn has been actively involved in the design or commissioning of over 200 LEED projects, including higher education, justice, healthcare, laboratory and pilot projects for LEED Commercial Interiors, LEED Core and Shell, and LEED for Neighborhood Developments. Kim was a member of the national USGBC Board of Directors, 2007 through 2009. Kim currently chairs the USGBC Tennessee Chapter's Advocacy and Public Policy committee.
