USGBC’s annual mid-year meeting, Convergence 2015, is taking place this week in San Diego, Calif. Convergence brings together the USGBC community—volunteers, chapters, committees, Board of Directors, staff and other green building leaders—to learn from each other and work on advancing USGBC’s mission of green buildings for all within a generation.

Convergence is about a spirit of volunteerism and collaboration and giving as much as you gain. Our amazing volunteers and leaders are laying the groundwork for another year of growth and success as a movement. One of the ways we are engaging our community and giving back to the City of San Diego is through local service projects.

On Monday, Convergence attendees partnered with the local USGBC-San Diego chapter and local organizations on several initiatives including, strategic planning for the San Diego Salvation Army, a LEED hack-a-thon at the San Diego Museum of Man, tree planning and siting with Tree San Diego, and a healthy building sustainability study within a San Diego school, among others.
